As Vernon County Board Chairman, I would like to thank the members of Emergency Management, Human Services, Highway Department, Health Department, Land and Water Conservation, Sheriff's Department, Solid Waste, County Corporation Counsel, Zoning, Unit on Aging, UW-Extension, Red Cross, Donation and Volunteer Coordinators, Computer Resources Department, DNR Warden and the Public Information Officer, for spending long hours and days at the Emergency Operations Center providing up-to-date information to numerous callers that required assistance during this disastrous time and for spending countless hours out in the county providing assessment and assistance.

This team operated as a highly trained professional organization. They responded very quickly to this situation.

A special thanks to the Emergency Management Director, Jerry Crotsenberg. and Assistant Emergency Management Director, Glenda Sullivan, for their leadership in organizing the Emergency Operations Center. We are very appreciative for the many volunteers that came forward in response to this disaster. It would be very difficult to be able to carry out our tasks without you.

To the many people who have been disrupted by this catastrophe, who endured many inconveniences and obstacles, we thank you for your patience and tolerance.

In recognition to all of the Vernon County citizens. who were also in need of assistance, continued helping their neighbors. You are truly the essence of our community.

Tom Spenner

Vernon County Board Chairman
