Music will again fill the Vernon County Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday, for the seventh annual Bluegrass and Gospel Music Festival.
Six bands are participating in the three-day event.
Musical groups include: The Alzen Family from Roberts; Art Stevenson and High Water from Babcock; Big Cedar from West Bend; The DisChords from Viroqua; Rock River Revival from southern Wisconsin; and Sawtooth from Minnesota.
Workshops on Saturday at 10 a.m. are provided to give help to anyone wanting a few extra tips on their bluegrass instrument. An open stage is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Viroqua Lions and Lionettes clubs are providing food on the grounds. There will also be a pancake breakfast both Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 7 a.m.
Campers from many states will be filling the fairground campgrounds. The event coincides with Viroqua’s downtown Crazy Days sale Saturday and the farmer’s market on Saturday morning. Anyone bringing a receipt from a local business during the weekend will be eligible for the $25 drawing on Saturday night.
Other drawings on Saturday evening include a quilt/money raffle and members-only drawing for $50. Membership is only $8 and can be obtained during the festival. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the day.
On Sunday morning, The DisChords will provide gospel music church services beginning at 9:15 a.m. A freewill offering will be taken Sunday morning.
A large tent will protect everyone from the elements. Festival seating requires people to bring their own lawn chairs This is a family event. As SPGMA members, no alcohol or drugs will be allowed on the grounds. Pets will need to be on a leash and remain in the camping area.
